The thing is that the kid was knocked out for a few seconds, but when he came to his nose was bleeding.   And no he did not die of blood loss.  The trucks broke his nose, so Weenis goes off to get paper towels and the kid calls his mom, who then takes him to the hospital where he later died when a piece of the broken bone from his nose went to his brain and killed him.

I know people die from skateboarding.  Mostly, I know a friend who had a friend but I never met the actual friend who died.  The few I know were because they were not wearing helmets, which I know a lot of skateboarders are resistant to use but if it was okay for Rodney Mullins, then hey! Take a lesson.

Anyway, it is weird to me because Weenis actually knows two kids under the age of 13 who have died from skateboarding in the last two years. TWO!!  (The other kid’s board popped up and hit him in the temple which killed him instantly.)

Please all…. learn a lesson.  Sometimes things seem like no big deal but in fact need to be checked out by a doctor.  Freak accidents are one thing because the chances of it happening are greater than a million to one like this.  You think what’s the biggie about a bloody nose?  Stick some tissue up your nose and keep going, right?  But sometimes the issue is completely preventable (see news articles below for more)

I feel terrible about this kid dying so young and not having their whole life ahead of them like I do.  I feel even worse for the loved ones that are left behind like his parents who have to deal with his death for the rest of their lives.

Death happens in any sport, because freak accidents happen but you can reduce your chances of injury.  Take care of yourself and count yourself lucky to have today!

DECATUR, Ill. — A central Illinois man has been sentenced to 60 days in jail and 18 months probation for running over his 12-year-old son while towing the boy on a skateboard.

Timothy W. Melvin on Monday said he didn’t realize he was pleading guilty to child endangerment. He says he didn’t mean to say he knew his son was standing on a skateboard and hanging on to a window of Melvin’s car on April 2, 2008.

Melvin says he thought he was pleading guilty to not making his son, Zachary, wear a helmet. Melvin ran Zachary R. Melvin over in the parking lot of a Decatur hospital, and the boy later died of his injuries.

Melvin says his younger son was mistaken when he told police that Melvin had been towing Zachary with the car in a similar way the day before the accident.

PORT ANGELES, Wash. — Friends and relatives of a 14-year-old skateboarder who died last week in Port Angeles urged the city council on Monday night to pass a helmet law.Frank Russo suffered fatal head injuries when he fell off his skateboard at a skate park on Friday night. He was not wearing a helmet.”If he had a helmet on, he would still be alive. He had a cerebellum injury and he immediately went into, (was) brain dead within 10 minutes,” said William Feeney, Russo’s stepfather. “It’s needless.”Discuss: Helmet Safety
Russo’s friends said he normally wore a helmet, and they didn’t know why he wasn’t wearing it on Friday night.Some of his friends asked the city council to require helmets at the skate park. Others urged the council to rename the park in Russo’s honor.

34-Year-Old Eric Costello

Oct. 26 (KGO) — The death of a well known skateboarder in Santa Cruz County serves as a tragic reminder about the importance of wearing a helmet, no matter how good you are or what your age.

The skateboard park in Scotts Valley is empty. Amid the falling rain, there are tears. An entire community is mourning the loss of 34-year-old Eric Costello, a well known skateboarder who shared his talent as an instructor.

Carol Helms, Scotts Valley parent: “He had like this natural gift with children. They loved him.”

Robbie McClure, 12-year-old skateboarder: “He would always give us advice and teach us stuff.”

The loss came after an accident on Saturday. Some kids had requested Costello perform a maneuver he had done hundreds of times before, but this time Costello apparently borrowed a helmet in the spur of the moment. Police believe the helmet was too small and not fastened.

Chief Steven Lind, Scotts Valley Police Dept.: “He lost control and went down in the bowl and it appears at this time, the helmet came off and he struck his head.”

For many, Costello’s death is ironic because he was constantly reminding young skateboarders about the importance of wearing a helmet.

Shari Kenner, Scotts Valley parent: “He was always telling the kids to be safe and wear their safety gear.”

Wearing safety gear is a skate park rule, but many admit the rules are often ignored. Annie Harris says Costello’s death is a tragic lesson.

Annie Harris, Dislocated Skate Shop: “It just shows how important it is for kids to wear a helmet and for everyone to wear a helmet because anything could happen at anytime.”

Already, people have posted signs asking skaters to honor Eric by wearing a helmet.

Costello leaves behind a 15-year-old son who also loves to skateboard.

The community has planned a public memorial for Eric Costello. It will take place this Sunday at the Scotts Valley Community Center, just a half block from the skate park.

Seriously, it has taken me WEEKS and it has cost me a boat load of moolla trying to find the right recipe out there.  It doesn’t exist on the internet.  I can tell you honestly that none of them work!!  I have literally spent the past few weeks cooking in my kitchen like a mad scientist with Weenis and Roswell.  I have ruined pans and kitchen utensils, I have hunted and hunted for ingredients that are not easily accessible to individuals like you and I.

I am this { } close to perfecting my own recipe.  And when I do,  it will be available on our website.  Save yourselves!!! I am in too deep down but for the love of God – SAVE YOURSELVES!!  Do yourself a favor – spend your days out on your boards and leave the cooking to me.
